Hunter + Brityn • Wedding at Eberley Brooks

PHOTOGRAPHYlissa-anglinComment

I hope you guys are prepared for a photo-heavy post- because there was just too much awesome at this wedding to NOT share. I loved getting to work with bride Brityn because not only does she know exactly what she likes, here style is a gorgeous mix of funky and beautiful, which of course I loved capturing. Speaking of things Brityn likes, there's Hunter- her groom and now husband- who is also pretty great himself. :) These two endured some HOT Texas heat and glaring sunshine for photos, which I could not appreciate more. Their entire wedding day was full of special moments I can't wait to share with you.

As you'll see, there were many gorgeous details curated by Brityn, her wonderful mother, and some very talented vendors. Their wedding was at Eberley Brooks Events, one of my favorite venues in Lubbock- and it was decorated so beautifully by Grayce Floral. The beautiful pearl necklace she wore was also her grandmothers. Brityn said, "My nana passed away when I was in the 5th grade but she was always such a special part of my life. Knowing that I could have her right there with me all night made everything perfect! I had planned on wearing that necklace at my wedding since I was 15 years old."

Brityn and Hunter are a teacher and coach- and so the arbor they were married under was adorned with the coolest collection of vintage children's books I have ever seen (swoon)! They actually painted a canvas in lieu of a unity candle (how many brides would be unafraid to sling paint during their ceremony?!?)- but it was totally special and worth it.

Their cakes were also to die for- the floral watercolor + gold combo- oh my goodness, perfection! Oh, did I mention we busted out some smoke bombs for a few sunset photos? Seriously love this couple!

When I asked Brityn about her advice to other brides, she said, "If your groom tells you throughout the process that they don't care and for you to do whatever... ALWAYS still ask for their input! They really do care especially when it begins to get down to the day! Also, just breathe and make it your own! It doesn't matter about anything unless it is what YOU want! If it's a detail that matters to you than do it 100%".

Definitely some great advice! Thank you, Hunter and Brityn, for letting us capture your wedding day! It was a blast!

trey + katie • engagement

PHOTOGRAPHYlissa-anglinComment

We all knew when Trey brought Katie to Christmas last year that it was the real deal. :) Sure enough, (and lucky for us) they are engaged this December!

It was so much fun shooting my cousin's engagement session- and I could not be more excited for him and Katie. It is always extra special when I get to photograph my own family's big life events. These two went on their first real date at Yellow House Coffee, so we started out there. I was soaking up every bit of the gorgeous golden sunset for their shoot. Thank you guys for enduring that cold wind for a little while with me!

garnett + audrey • wedding • the watson building

PHOTOGRAPHYlissa-anglinComment

Garnett and Audrey were married at one of my favorite venues in downtown Lubbock- the Watson building. One of the best things about the Watson is the huge windows they have in the second floor area. Garnett + Audrey did their first look there, and it was flooded with gorgeous fall light. These two were perfectly smitten with each other on their wedding day- which was such a pleasure to capture. They are clearly a team, and have a deep respect and appreciation for each other- all excellent beginnings to a great marriage. Southern Elegance Design totally knocked it out of the park on the florals, food and decor. Thanks for letting us tag along and capture it all, guys!

I had such a wonderful morning with these two- and I can't wait for their wedding this spring! This shoot definitely had more of a "fall" feel, which was exactly what we wanted. I loved the outfits Haley put together, and though it was chilly that day, the clouds gave us all sorts of soft light. Congrats you two!

tj + stephanie • wedding • the historic baker building

PHOTOGRAPHYlissa-anglinComment

I loved so many things about this wedding- how the historic, stately Baker Building transformed into this cozy, elegant space on a rainy day in October, how gorgeous those plums and purples from the bridesmaids' dresses and florals were- how incredibly thoughtful and kind and unselfish TJ and Stephanie were on their wedding day. It was such a pleasure to photograph this wedding. I had more than a few favorites- can't get over that rich combination of navy and gold! I hope you are ready! Thanks so much to the incredible vendors who made all the pretty I got to photograph.

I have been absent from my blog for a couple of weeks- not for lack of work, but for the overload of it! I am definitely not complaining, though- when you love your job, you don't mind! :)

One of the reasons I love my job lately is getting to work with people like Evan and Winnie. These two are so easygoing, and trusted me with their engagement session. We had a beautiful evening to shoot in the West Texas fields, and I was eating up that golden light we only get this time of year. I had a great time with them, and I love the feeling of these images. Enjoy!

jacob + chelsey • wedding • ransom canyon chapel

lissa-anglinComment

It rained for days- no, weeks- before their wedding day. I emailed Chelsey to check on her the week of her wedding, and she responded in such a way that I knew nothing- not even rain- would spoil her day. The day arrived, and wouldn't you know it- the rain stopped. There was a damp dew all around- which made the setting (the chapel at Ransom Canyon) even more beautiful.

The ceremony was sweet and intimate- you could see how very excited these two were to finally be married! The reception boasted a trail mix bar and the. most. delicious. punch. ever! In lieu of formal toasts, Jacob and Chelsey had people wish for them on river rocks, which they threw into the pond at the chapel after they left.

Thank you two for having us. We so enjoyed getting to be there and capture it all!

lorenzo + valerie • engagement • lubbock, tx

Lorenzo and Valerie have a classic love story. They grew up in the same small town, knowing who each other was, but never being close. A few years after graduation, they ran into each other again- and this time was different. Everything fell into place, and they've been together ever since. They're getting married in beautiful Santa Fe in a few months, and I couldn't be happier for them!
